SUPPORTING THE ARTS!

Sixth-grade students in Ms. Grady’s and Ms. Lindenbaum’s art classes learned about Aboriginal culture

during a visit from native Australian artist Chris Pitkin. Chris played a didgeridoo for the students and

explained the different aspects of the Australian culture, including the music and art of the Aboriginal

people. The first natives of Australia, did not have a written language. They share their history through

art by means of “dot paintings” made from the Outback’s red sand.

This program was funded by the Elwood Booster Club.

Since 2008, we have donated over $356,000 to support academics, arts and athletics in

TO DATE IN 2016-2017 we have donated OVER $78,000

TO DATE IN 2015-2016 we have donated OVER $68,000 to fund an electronic sign at

the entrance to JGHS and EMS campus, various EMS & Boyd extracurricular and homework clubs,

EMS Australian Art program and zero gravity swing for an elementary playground. (SEE LIST

OF DONATIONS ABOVE)

IN 2014-2015 we have donated $36,000 to fund leveled libraries at Boyd & Harley, restore

Elwood Middle School student clubs, EMS Italian field trip, flag pole on JGHS Varsity baseball

field and purchased document cameras for Harley. Thank you for your generous support!

IN 2013-2014, EBC DONATED $44,600 TO ELWOOD SCHOOLS

$13,850 for Boyd & EMS Homework Clubs and EMS Media Club

$5,000 to fund the JGHS Environmental Club and EMS International Club.

$3,800 for JGHS Auditorium Sound System

$5,000 for Boyd Math Manipulatives to support Common Core Curriculum

$2,200 for Harley Ave "Have you Filled Your Bucket?" Presentation

$7,800 for JGHS Varsity Baseball Field Reconditioning, Windscreens & Backstops

$5,300 for Chromebooks at Boyd

$1,000 to JGHS Student Council and Class of 2014
